Health is far more than just the absence of a disease. Although science and medicine work with an unprecedented progress, there have never been more people suffering under so many different diseases. We are living in an era where people have to actively contribute to their health of body, mind and soul. In modern society, things and behavior patterns that threaten our health lurk everywhere and at any time. Thus, it is very important to be aware of one’s own health as well as of health-promoting acting. Here, apart from the genetic initial situation, our personal responsibility is 90 %.
Body – mind – soul
What is more important – a healthy body, a healthy mind or a “healthy” soul? The question is already answered, when we assume that mind and soul are above the material – a healthy mind accounts for a healthy body. Only then, our soul is feeling well. The share of every single factor is very individual, especially of mind and soul. Positive thinking is no longer enough. Only when you think AND act positive you have the chance to optimize your health and to thereby trigger a series of desirable reactions. This results in “joie de vivre” and bright confidence – two important companions for life.
The human being is a system of systems within a system
The human being itself is a system of systems (nervous-, endocrine- and immune-system, for example). At the same time it is in interaction with a lot of other systems (nature, environment, social issues, for example). Everything is connected with everything and therefore everything influences everything. This especially applies for us humans, since we are living in a constant interaction with nature and our environment. In addition to that, there is the uniqueness of our different states of consciousness (wake- and sleep-consciousness, for example) and the free choice of thoughts. Especially this interplay between body, mind and soul shapes the human being – his thoughts, his actions, his health, his vitality, his joie de vivre, his success – his whole life.
So, how can we actively contribute to our health? Read more in the second part.
