Strengthen your immune system with a lot of fresh vitamins and sufficient sleep. Especially in the cold time of the year we are prone to flu infections. The more important it is to support our body with healthy food, plenty of sleep and exercise.
Treat yourself with a power drink full of vitamins in the beginning of the day: mix yourself a smoothie with red beet, avocado and fresh lemon juice. Already in Middle Ages red beet was used as herbal remedy for infections. Red beet and avocados are rich in vitamin A, B and E, iodine, calcium, folic acid, iron, magnesium, phosphor and sodium. They are an excellent method for strengthening your immune system. The natural color betanine furthermore protects your cells. Vitamin B and E are potent antioxidants and free radicals scavengers. Lemon juice adds the vitamin C needed.
Recipe for your power cocktail
- 200 g boiled and peeled red beet
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1 red apple
- 1 tbsp. lemon juice
- 1 tbsp. honey
- 500 ml water
Cut the red beet into small cubes. Core the avocados and apples; cut them into small cubes resp. slices. Add the lemon juice, honey and water and blend all the ingredients. Best drink it freshly mixed.
