Lose weight during sleep
When you take care for your sleep-wake-cycle and nourish yourself properly you are burning fat during night. When you are sleeping seven or more hours per night and are having an appropriate diet you are losing much more weight than one who only sleeps four or five hours. Perfect for night-time-weight loss are meat, vegetables, eggs or fish for dinner. Protein-rich diet activates fat reduction during night. On the other hand, carbohydrates are a no-go. So, do without noodles or rice in the evening.
Women better sleep alone, men don’t
Women and men not only differ in appearance and behavior they also clearly differ in their sleeping behavior. While women better sleep alone, men sleep calmer and more restful when their loved one is lying beside them. Austrian sleep scientists found out that women without a bedfellow are significantly calmer and their pure sleeping time is higher.
Women and sleep
One can say that the sleep of women is generally less deep and hence more easily to disturb than the sleep of men. But, that is how nature intended it to be; they had and have to hear their children in case they needed something. But this of course leads to the fact that other noises wake-up women just as easy. One example: snoring. Almost every third woman is complaining about the sleeping noises of her partner.
Too less and too much sleep
Studies show that frequently too less sleep (6 hours or less) or regularly too much sleep (more than 9 hours) are both shortening life expectancy. 7-8 hours of sleep are perfect for a grown-up.
Sleeping through
When you wake-up in the morning with the pleasant feeling of having slept deeply and soundly you surely experienced a restful night. But it is doubtful that it actually happened without a break: it is totally normal to wake-up up to 28 times per night. Most of the time, these waking-phases only last a couple of minutes and we are not able to remember them in the morning.
Sleep makes you more attractive
Beauty sleep is anything else but a myth –- it is scientifically proved reality. Swedish scientists proved in an experiment that people who slept off before were perceived from their surrounding as being more attractive. One reason for that is that during sleeping our skin is supplied with important hormones which stimulate the natural regeneration. So, after sleeping the skin looks firmer, younger and more vital.
Sleep of one’s life
On an average, a human sleeps one third of his life. In other words, we are sleeping about four months each year.

With most people, falling asleep takes about seven minutes.
Parental sleep
During the first two years of their child new parents lose six months of sleep, in total.
Sleep and learning
Sleep after learning something new helps to better keep the learned things in mind.
