Today is world sleep day. This day calls attention to the continuously growing personal and social challenges which are due to lack of sleep and no longer restful sleep. And, especially important: this day reminds of the importance of sleep for our health, our well-being and our career. This year’s motto of the world sleep day: “Good sleep is a reachable dream.”
There are certain preconditions for good sleep: starting with the design of a “sleep-friendly” day with frequent breaks that prevent stress from getting out of hand, vital diet and exercise and reaches to optimization of the own sleep surroundings and sleeping underlay. If we take these things into account, good and especially healthy, restful sleep is anything else but a dream: it becomes reality.
But, not only good sleep is important for our well-being but also dreams. Especially for the regeneration and stabilization of our inner life attaches importance to dreaming. Smaller and bigger sorrows and everyday strains are processed in the world of dreams. With “possibilities” you couldn’t dream of in “wake-life” — in the land of dreams other laws than reason, logical and moral apply. And exactly this eases tensions you were trying to get rid of during the day without success. This underlines the importance of sufficient and healthy sleep. Only than all phases –- incl. REM-phase – will sufficiently be gone through and body, mind and soul are able to recover.
Avoid alcohol and chemical sleeping aids
Especially these two substances absolutely suppress dreaming. The brain activity gets limited and no or only few dreams occur. Far better alternatives are relaxation methods or herbal substances like valerian or hops.
Care for the preconditions for good, restful and bioenergetic sleep® in your life and you not only will have a dreamlike sleep but your life will become a dream!
