To reach an optimal sleep duration and sleep quality, the air humidity in your bedroom should be between 40 and 60 %. The air humidity differs in summer and winter. During winter, the chilly air absorbs less humidity than the warm summer-air. Some simple measures support you in reaching a perfect air humidity, summer like winter.
The ideal air humidity in your bedroom
- Proper heating automatically results in the proper temperature.
- Regularly air your bedroom.
- Is the air too dry, put a bowl of water in your bedroom.
- Is the air too humid, a bowl filled with salt is helpful.
- Is the air humidity in your bedroom constantly too high, use of an air dehumidifier is advisable.
- Is the air humidity constantly too low, use of an air humidifier is advisable.
Correct ventilation
Often, ventilation is not done correctly. Regular and correct ventilation helps to normalize air humidity. Furthermore, you reach the proper room temperature as well as room climate. Also, it changes used air with fresh, oxygenous air.
Correct ventilation in summer
- Air your bedroom when it’s cool outside. Perfect are the hours of early morning and late evening.
- Instead of tilting the window, open the window wide. Like this, a lot of cool air is streaming into the room.
- Care for draught. If possible, open two opposite windows.
- In the morning, completely close the window as well as the shutter after ventilation. Like this, the damp warm summer air stays outside.
- The higher the temperature rises, the longer air.
- If necessary, tilt your window during the night.
