Scientists assume that our pineal gland has strongly regressed in the course of evolution. So, this important gland shrunk from its original size of about 30 mm to its today’s size of about 5 mm.
On the one hand this is due to the fact that we are constantly living and sleeping against our inner clock and so disturb our natural living-rhythm lasting. Furthermore, artificial light sources with a high share on blue-light keep us awake and therewith turn night into day –- from the biological point of view. In addition to that, most civilized people suffer under a lack of sufficient natural sunlight.
It has to be added, that about 80 per cent are suffering under a chronical lack of sleep. This significantly impairs the rhythmic function of the pineal gland. Furthermore, the growing strain of the organism with toxins (toxins from nutrition, medication, environment) is having a huge impact on the activity of our pineal gland, too.
A mostly unknown threat for our pineal gland: fluoride
From the biologic-chemical point of view, fluorides are toxic substances. Most of us know these substances in connection with our teeth. Fluoride is said to protect us from caries, out of this reason it is ingredient of a lot of tooth pastes. Concerning this matter, it is important that every single person weighs up for itself whether one wants to take all side effects of fluoride for this. In the meantime, fluorides get related with numerous health disturbances like arthritis, diabetes, thyroid disease, kidney disease etc.
But, fluoride is also found in our table salt, mineral waters as well as in conventionally grown and processed food. Exactly this is a particular risk for our pineal gland, because the fluoride is accumulating in the tissue of the pineal gland. Out of this reason the gland is curing and calcifying in the course of the years.
Also, hormone-like substances like mercury, excessive caffeine-, nicotine- and alcohol-intake up to refined sugar may cause calcification of the pineal gland.
Technically induced fields of radiation (electromagnetic pollution), meanwhile burdening us in buildings as well as in free nature, are also having a strong negative effect on our pineal gland. Because of this, production of melatonin is strongly suppressed and in extreme cases almost totally impeded. Scientifically studies showed that electromagnetic fields are lowering the melatonin level in human beings (cf. Reiter and Robinson, “Melatonin”, page 241). Exactly out of this reason, a radiation free or low-radiation sleeping place is absolutely essential for healthy, restful sleep!
