One stressful situation is followed by the next one. In the evening, you are exhausted and irritated. You don’t find your inner peace and are not able to forget your daily stress; falling asleep relaxed becomes impossible. Our hint: care for tiny timeouts during the day. Escape from stress with relaxation exercises and gather energy thereby.
Methods of stress reduction
- Care for distraction: You are stuck? Or, a difficult task causes for concern? Let it rest for a short while and go on to other things. Take a coffee break or make a short walk in fresh air. Care for distraction.
- Let off steam: Often, it helps to fully let off steam. Get a punching bag or knead a stress ball. These things have a relieving effect.
- Control breathing: Stress is influencing our breathing. Therefore, care for conscious breathing. Try to in- and exhale slowly and regularly. Thus, you will reach a comfortable relaxation and your stress level lowers. There also is a special breathing technique, suitable for stress reduction: the 4-7-8 breathing technique is relaxing and calming.
- Care for a restful and healthy sleep: Don’t take your stress into your bed! Relaxation exercises like yoga, autogenous training or progressive muscle relaxation support falling asleep. Restful and healthy sleep supplies your body and mind with the regeneration needed and you will start into a new day fit and well rested.
