This means in specific, that sheep wool is able to temporarily store humidity up to about 30 % of its own weight. So, if you are suffering under increased sweating you are clearly going to benefit from this effect. Because, neither your bed nor your duvet will feel damp or wet. Furthermore, this also prevents from disagreeable dust mites since they prefer a wet and damp habitat. Sheep wool on the other hand keeps your bed dry as well as comfortably warm. It furthermore is highly breathable. Sheep wool also neutralizes pollutants – sweat as well as air pollutants.
Merino sheep wool: soft and cuddly
Unlike ordinary sheep wool, merino sheep wool cares for a plus in cuddliness. The wool of merino sheep is more voluminous, denser, as well as soft and cuddly by nature. Also, thanks’ to its wool grease (lanolin) it is a self-cleaning natural fiber. Therefore, the lanolin content of the wool should not be destroyed by machine wash. Unlike other natural fillings – like down feathers, for example – sheep wool is a renewable raw material and its production is not harming any animals.
