There is no place we are spending more time (about one third of our life) than our sleeping place. The sleeping place serves for regeneration, relaxation, for processing of learned stuff, for strengthening of the immune system and of course for sexual pleasure. Have you ever thought about whether your sleeping place is “healthy”?
A healthy sleeping place includes:
Bed frame, slat frame, mattress and pillows
The bed and its content are the most important aspects in your bedroom. The bed enables us lying well protected, away from ground. The slat frame and the mattress care for a proper and comfortable positioning of the body in bed. Optimal positioning in our bed is possible when the sleeping underlay enables and supports the same body posture like when standing in an upright position. During lying, the spine should have the possibility to keep its natural S-shape and to be supported and relieved at the same time. The pillow is for supporting the cervical spine.
Take care that the used materials are free from any pollutants. For your bed frame a unpainted solid wood frame, which is free of metals, is advisable. Furthermore, your slat frame, your mattress and your pillow should be made of natural materials. Here, especially natural latex mattresses, a double sided, freely suspended slat frame as well pillows with bio-active sheep wool are suitable.
Cover and linen
Often, the cover and linen don’t get as much attention as the bed and its content do. And this in spite of that our sleep can be massively affected without the proper cover and linen. The optimal cover ensures that we are comfortably warm – without any sweating or freezing. It should perfectly adjust itself to our body and care for a comfortable lying. The minimum length should be the own body size plus additional 10 inches. It’s a matter of taste whether you want to cuddle under your cover by yourself or in pairs. But, the possibility that one partner remains uncovered during night when using one blanket together is very high. Also take care that your cover and your linen are free from any pollutants. For covers, sheep wool, too, is perfect. Natural fibers like cotton or – as the name already implies – linen are perfect materials for bed linen. These components combined care for a comfortable bedding climate.
Sleep surrounding
The sleep surrounding is another factor that has a big impact on our sleeping quality. Besides the known factors like noise and light, electromagnetic pollution can impair our sleep, too. Electromagnetic pollution can be caused by mobile radio stations, high-voltage or railway lines but from electrical wiring and devices in your bedroom, too. Out of this reason, all electric devices like for example mobile phones, TV, Radio best should be banned from your bedroom. Furthermore, an expertly installed network activator can be helpful. This network activator disconnects power supply. But, the sleep surrounding also can be negatively influenced by geopathic zones like water veins and earth rays, toxics in floor covering (carpets, for example) or walls (wall paper, colors).
