Non-restful sleep and sleep disturbances are the result of a sum of inner and outer influences and therefore have to be looked at being multicomplex.
Dissatisfaction, stress, fear of the future, wrong diet but also occupational and private overload are the main causes for inner restlessness. Emotional impressions we gathered during daytime are not completely assimilated or mentally “digested”. Sooner or later, this may prevent us from healthy, restful sleep. Understandably, identity crisis, missing meaning in life and problems in life are interrupting our rhythm and therewith are a basic trigger for bad sleep and sleep disturbances. And in a lot of cases, due to this inner restlessness.
With stressed people, all these possible influencing factors are leading to a disturbance of the day-depending inner rhythm. As a consequence, this also is influencing the night-depending inner rhythm. The result? A non-recreational sleep or sleep disturbance.
For the solution of problems in life and crises it is important to (re-)discover your personal goals and values.
Time and again, ask yourself the following questions:
• In what lies the real meaning of my life?
• What makes me really happy and satisfied?
• How can I find fulfillment in my work?
Of course is it possible, that you are not having your dream job right now and that you would like to change a lot of things in your life. On the other hand, in such a situation it is important to see all the things you already have (achieved) and not only focus on what is missing. Basically, any work can be made more fulfilling. The awareness and simplification of difficult situations are important for a happy and satisfied life.
In the end, it is always about the same thing: the proper mixture of work, recreation and time with your family, friends and yourself. This will give you the necessary balance and evenness you will need for a healthy, recreational sleep. Don’t forget: the worse and more disturbed your sleep already is, the more important are the proper sleep-furnishing and the disturbance-free sleep-surroundings! Only these will give you a direct, relevant and lasting influence on your sleeping quality!
