Are you grumpy in the morning, too? Here are some tips that support you in getting up easy.
1. Plan enough time
Find out, how much time you need in the morning to calmly take care of everything (go to the bathroom, shower, have a breakfast, etc.). If you have too little time, set the alarm clock earlier.
2. Proper alarm tone
Use your favorit music or some other nice melody as alarm tone. This will lift your spirits and the start into your day will be easier.
3. Prepare your clothing
To save time and to start calmly into the new day prepare your clothing in the evening before.
4. Look forward to the new day
Start in the evening to think about the plans of the new day. What do you want to achieve? Which appointments do you have? What are you looking especially forward to? It is advisable to write down a To-Do-list, then you don’t have to remember everything and enjoy a restful sleep.
5. Let light into bedroom
After getting up, open your curtains or turn on the light. This enhances the production of the happy hormone serotonin and inhibits production of the sleeping hormone melatonin. This supports your awakening.
6. Open the window
After getting up, open your window and take some deep breaths. The oxygen supports coming alive and you will feel fresh.
7. Drink water
In the evening, put some water on your bedside table. Drink it after waking up – this helps to balance the fluid deficiency that arose during night.
8. Healthy breakfast
A healthy breakfast is the best start into the day, strengthens concentration and coordination and cares for a better performance. A healthy muesli, fruits and whole meal bread are a good choice!
9. Create rituals
What is good for you in the morning? A short walk, a shower, reading the newspaper or a cosy breakfast? Try to find your personal ritual that relaxes you in the morning and supports a hassle-free start into the new day.
10. Find your personal sleep-wake-cycle
No matter whether it’s a weeknight or weekend: try to stick to the same times to go to bed and to get up.
