Everybody knows this feeling – you are tired again. Not only in the morning or evening but during the day, too, the performance of many people is low. The cause of this tiredness does not have to be a lack of sleep. There are further reasons for tiredness; a deficiency symptom or possibly a disease, for example.
On an average, the sleep-need of a human being ranges from six to eight hours. When you are sleeping less signs of fatigue will occur during the day. Here, a power nap can be very helpful. But, it is becoming more difficult, when these signs of fatigue also arise after constantly sleeping enough. Then, you will have to search for the real cause and keep in mind that tiredness might be a side effect of different diseases.
What is making us tired?
- Drinking enough of water is essential for the body and keeps us awake. It is a known fact that coffee belongs to stimulants. But, after the stimulating effect of the caffeine is wearing off, some people often feel more tired than before. Green tea or black tea keep awake longer.
- When you are feeling tired in spite of sufficient sleep, a low blood-pressure might be the reason. Dizziness and cold hands are further signs for a low blood-pressure.
- Lack of vitamin B12 has a fast negative effect on our body. Lack of energy and tiredness are some consequences. Vitamin B12 is only found in animal protein, out of this reason it is important for vegetarians as well as vegans to find a high-quality supplement.
- Especially women often suffer under iron deficiency that also leads to tiredness. Iron is needed for the formation of hemoglobin which is responsible for the O2-transportation throughout the body. When the transportation slows down the body is no longer working at full blast.
Stress is another factor for symptoms of fatigue. When you are constantly under pressure it will be difficult to switch off occasionally. The body is frequently in full blast and the energy decreases. - Growth spurts of children and adolescents often care for tiredness.
- When a room is poorly aired or the air is too dry this also may lead to tiredness.
- Often, acute and chronical inner diseases are connected with tiredness. Infections are often announced with tiredness. A cold or a possible flu often occur after a couple of days feeling exhausted. In case, the tiredness is not improving and further symptoms arise other diseases might be reason for that. Check possible reasons with your doctor.
A chronical fatigue syndrome is less common. Here, the smallest bit of physical or mental activity lead to a longer lasting fatigue.
But, tiredness not only may have physical but also mental causes. A depression might be the reason when in connection with tiredness exhaustion and a depressed mood occur. One thing that often is reason for feeling tired, even after an adequate time of sleep: not only the sleeping time but above all sleeping quality is important for really being well-rested and fit. Out of this reason, pay very close attention to your sleep surrounding and your sleeping underlay. Only when you are creating the proper preconditions for your sleep, you will be able to fully relax and fill up your batteries for the tasks to come.
