What to do when the back is bothering you? Not only a healthy lifestyle and exercise are preventing from pain but also the optimal sleeping underlay. During the night, it is not possible to control the body posture like during the day. Out of this reason, it is important that as well in the lateral as in the back position the body is bedded anatomically correct. The bed neither may be too soft nor too hard. Only then, the musculature may relax and the intervertebral discs get relieved. Depressions in the mattress that let the body sag, a rigid slat frame or ergonomically wrong head parts worsen the pain in the back.
Healthy sleep is a perfect health care
Long since, back problems and sleep disturbances emerged to be a significant widespread disease. Their anamnesis and therapy often is difficult. Out of this reason, prevention is from utmost priority. An orthopaedic sleeping system and the creation of a healthy sleep surroundings may support many people in getting a higher quality of life. Because, during sleep body, mind and soul regenerate. So, many things depend on sleep: health, performance and well-being -– mentally as well as physically.
Appropriately fight against back pain
Lack of exercise, unusual strain, overweight, mental stress or signs of wear in the skeleton –- causes of back pain are manifold. According to a study, from 80 to 90 % of all Europeans suffer under back pain. And not only elders are affected. Already adolescents and adults complain of regularly occurring back pain. “Besides of organic reasons, back pain may also have mental causes. No matter, whether the complaints are chronically or only occur from time to time: the bearing and supporting capacity of the sleeping underlay is essential to the intervertebral discs and the spine”, states sleeping expert Dr. med. h.c. Guenther W. Amann-Jennson. Is the underlay fulfilling its task insufficiently, malposition and pain arise. Furthermore, poor mattresses and sleeping systems are an additional burden to all forms of back pain, even up to osteoporosis.
