TV, computer and smartphone
For many people the TV serves as perfect help to fall asleep. But be careful which program you choose. Exciting action movies hardly are suitable for calming down in the evening. Better choose calm movies; they support getting away from a stressful day. Documentaries and cooking shows etc. are a good choice.
But, in case you believe that falling asleep in front of the TV is restful and supports falling asleep: you are wrong! Regularly falling asleep in front of TV clearly disturbs nighttime rest. Noises as well as the high share of blue light continuously send permanent wake-up signals to our brain and therefore negatively affect healthy sleep. The blue light inhibits production of the sleeping hormone melatonin. Therefore it is advisable to do without TV, computer, tablet etc. before going to bed. It is better to do some light reading or to listen to calm music. Like this, melatonin production is not inhibited, body and mind calm down and everyday stress is left behind. The relaxed mode of our body enhances and supports the process to fall asleep and to sleep through.
Electromagnetic pollution
By now, more and more people react sensitively to electromagnetic pollution. Electromagnetic pollution includes electromagnetic fields, produced from domestic electricity (low-frequency fields) or mobile communication antenna (high-frequency fields). Electromagnetic fields negatively influence our body. This leads to stress, strain of the immune-system as well as cardiovascular-system. And – it impairs production of the sleeping- and protection-hormone melatonin.
Causer of electromagnetic pollution in the bedroom are bedside lamps, radio alarm clocks, TV etc. Therefore it is advisable to disconnect all electronic devices in the bedroom from the main power supply or to completely ban from the bedroom. Professionally installed network activators serve as alternative. Also avoid using smartphone, tablet, wireless phones or WLAN in your bedroom.
By conductive metals, electric and electromagnetic fields spread faster. Try to keep your bedroom and your sleeping system metal-free.
